Prompt Magic: Transforming Queries into Solutions

In our last post on Chat GPT playground, we discussed how to control output and generate desired prompt results utilizing the options provided by the platform.

Here are six elements that constitute a good prompt:

1. Create an avatar.

2. Write task details.

3. Outline steps to complete the task.

4. State context/constraints.

5. Define the desired goal.

6. Specify the required output format.

Here’s an example:

1. Avatar: 
You are a customer service representative for a bank.

2. Task: 
Assist a customer in resolving a double billing issue on their credit card transaction.

3. Steps to complete Task:
Greet the customer and ask for their account details and information about the duplicated transaction.

Apologize for the inconvenience and reassure the customer that you will assist in resolving the issue.

Verify the duplicated transaction and provide an explanation of what may have caused the double billing.

If applicable, guide the customer through any immediate steps they can take on their end, such as checking if the transaction is pending or contacting the merchant involved.

If the issue persists, assure the customer that you will escalate the matter to the relevant department for further investigation.

Inform the customer of the estimated time frame for resolution and provide any reference or ticket number for their follow-up.

4. Context/Constraints: 
The customer may be frustrated or concerned about the double billing, and you should communicate in a calm and empathetic manner. 

5. Goal: 
The goal is to resolve the issue promptly and ensure the customer feels supported throughout the process.

6. Format Output: Provide a summary of the steps taken to address the double billing issue, including any relevant information or instructions for the customer to follow up if needed.
